E-journals
Stanford has a collection of electronic
journals, which can be searched by journal
title or subject category. This site includes
titles of journals that Stanford receives
through subscription to databases such as Expanded
Academic ASAP.
Access to these electronic
journals may not be reflected in Socrates.
It is a good idea to search the E-journals
database, particularly if you are trying
to track down a specific journal title and
a
specific
issue of that journal.
Open the electronic
journals site and take
a moment to search the journal title Psychology
Today. Notice that the journal
is provided from several different sources.
Notice, also, that the online coverage
dates are slightly different. If you were
looking for an article from 1987, you would
want to select From Gale. Continue
following the links until you find the
year and issue number you need, then select
the article title.
While the e-journals site does
not go down to the article level, Stanford's
HighWire Press is a combination of journal
titles and a repository of free, full-text,
peer-reviewed articles. Take a look and notice
that you can search by keywords, or browse
either articles or journal titles by topic.
Visit this site when you are looking for current
information in the life sciences.
