Periodical Titles in Socrates

1. If you know the exact title, you can change Keyword to Exact or use Browse for an alphabetical listing. Select Browse now.

2. Type the title of the journal or magazine, e.g., journal of popular culture.

3. Click on the button Periodical Title.

Follow the links. Can you tell which library at Stanford owns it and which years? That's right, scroll down and you will see the library is Green. Next to Green the Location is CurrentPer for Current Periodicals (for the latest year or so) and the library has all years from v.1, 1967 on.

Look down a bit further to see the call number.

Now search the following two titles and discover whether they are in any library on campus (Click on New Search, then follow Steps 1, 2, 3):

international journal of environment and pollution

educational theory

If you needed volume 47, 1997 of Educational Theory, would you be able to get it online?

Look in the boxed area on the left side of the record. It says EBSCO Host Academic Search Premier offers full-text access from 1996 to the year before the current year. To access it, click on the "Go" button. (You will need to click on the link for the volume you want, then the issue.)

If you wanted to read an article from this year, you could access fulltext from the other link indicated in the boxed area of the Socrates record (Synergy Blackwell).
