Types of Sources

E-Mail

Email and other forms of online communication, such as chat and text-messaging, can be cited as sources. Each of these formats has its own language and rules. However, remember that these are not private forms of communication.

Use E-Mail
  • to communicate with an expert in the field
  • to access postings and messages on newsgroups and listservs
  • to ask your reference librarian a question about research
