Subject Searching

You'd think you could enter any topic as a Subject search in Socrates. However, the Subject search uses controlled vocabulary to organize books by subject. These are called Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH for short).

If you enter your keywords as a Subject search, you may not get much back. For example:

If you entered a Subject search for:

cyberwar

You would get no results!

But if you entered a Subject search using the LCSH term,

information warfare

You would see the library does own resources.

How do I know the LCSH term is

information warfare?
