Finding Help
You've learned author and
title searching and how to limit in Socrates. You've
been introduced to Combined
Search and how to find subject
headings. You still need to know how to find
periodical titles, but you'll learn that in
another module.
Experimenting is the best
way to become skilled at searching. Don't forget
the Help link, or
the Ask Us in the
toolbar.
However, help is also available
at the Information
Center. The Information Center desk is located
on the first floor of Green Library. You can also
go to the reference point in other libraries.
Think of the trained staff as a source and take
advantage of their experience — ask them
for assistance.
The Information Center website now offers Chat
Reference when there is a librarian at the reference
desk. You will find a chat box on the Information
Center Website. Look for the "Ask A Librarian"
chat box.
